We offer a comprehensive rebuild service on gearboxes and clutches. This service is used either as a low cost option to buying new, or when replacement parts are no longer available (NLA).The component rebuild programme is dependant upon the co-operation and understanding of our customers.
Firstly 'rebuilt' does not mean 'new'. Rebuilding the unit involves stripping, inspecting, repairing and re-assembly. Worn or defective component parts may be replaced or suitably renovated. It is not always feasible for component parts to be replaced for reasons of cost or the part being NLA.
Most major units within the rebuild programme may be purchased on an 'Exchange' basis. This means either supplying your old unit at the time of purchase or paying a 'surcharge'. This surcharge is refunded when an acceptable old unit is later returned to us. All old units being returned must be complete, fully assembled, drained of all fluids and capable of being reconditioned. Damaged, incomplete or dismantled units will not be accepted and the surcharge will be retained.
For certain rare or unique units (where exchange items are not available) it may be necessary to recondition a customers own unit. The time required may vary from a few days to several weeks. Please speak to us for a quotation.
All parts are fully warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. In most cases warranty will not cover labour, failure of a related component, failure resulting from incorrect installation or MISUSE, nor would liability exceed the cost of the original component. During the warranty period (usually 12 months or 12,000 miles (for modified Classic Mini or any BMW Mini 6 months or 6,000 miles)), if any problems occur please contact us immediately. We will then advise you , before replacing the failed component, as to the best course of action.
Reconditioned clutches are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months/12000 miles whichever occurs first. This warranty will not cover failure resulting from incorrect installation or MISUSE, nor would liability exceed the cost of the original component.
MISUSE would be defined as racing, rallying, hill climbing, track use or any form of motor sport, excessively hard road driving would also be classed as misuse. This list is not exhaustive. All good object to a warranty claim would be inspected before any claim was processed.
The original proof of purchase must be produced with all claims.
